Jack Ritchie wrote a story in the 60's called, "For All the Rude People." It was in the Hitchcock magazine, and later in several anthologies. It was about a fellow diagnosed with a terminal disease who decided to spend his final days "taking care" of rude people—with a gun. It was a spur of the moment decision and he fully expected to be caught right away, but the seeming randomness of the victims made it difficult for police. So he moved from rude people around him to seeking out those who had been intolerably rude in the past. It was a wry and truthsome story. If I can find a copy, I'll pass it along.
