rbt writers (club) The rbt (club)--pronounced rabbit, just like the picture--is not really a club. It's an idea. We're going to pretend it is a club, however, just for the fun of it. And so, if you join, I'll send you an official rbt (club) membership card, which is unlike anything else you own and may someday, somehow, prove useful when, say, for lack of anything else to pull from your purse or pocket, you produce this unique card that proves you belong vaguely to something that the person you hand it to does not. The idea: I'm going to send you a card or two. And, because you love writing and reading, you are going to write on the card and send it to somebody. Or so I hope. I'm talking a real, not virtual, not metaphorical, sending--as in paying a postal service to carry the card some distance, perhaps some vast distance, to somebody else. And that somebody else will open the card with delight and a small gasp, murmuring to her/himself, "I never get mail!" Mail is the idea, in other words. We don't send enough of it. I mean enough of the right kind. Cards are easy and pleasant. So it's a very good thing for your karma and mine. We'll pretend that that's the extent of my altriusm, never mind that on the back of the card you will find my website address. The cards: are one-of-a-kind. Yes, they are greeting-card size, high-resolution graphics on high-quality card-stock, and blank inside. But you will not find these anywhere else. I made them myself because I like to make things. But once I made them I didn't know what to do with them. Sure, I send them out myself. But I want to send out more. So I'll send some to you. It's a dilemma you're probably familiar with: how to share? how to show? The first series is writerly/readerly-themed. I have many others, which I'll upload as I find the time. (The "Disaster Series" seems to be popular.) How to join: 1) just send a Self-Addressed-Stamped-business-sized Envelope to RBT, 2746 Saint Paul Street, Baltimore, MD 21218. 2) tell me which card/s you want. The more postage you put on the envelope, the more cards I can send (within reason). 3) If you order one of my books, I'll automatically send you some cards. 4) If you have already bought one of my books, bless you. Send me a photo of you holding the book or a photocopy of your face smushed next to the book (just lean into the glass of the photocopier) and I'll send you some cards and stuff. |
